"We work closely with our customers to bring their ideas to life — designing and manufacturing tailored equipment that meets specific needs, solves specialised problems and performs exactly as required."
— MW Equipment LTDMW Equipment designs and manufactures bespoke heavy site equipment tailored to your specific operational requirements. From initial brief through CAD design, customer sign-off and UK manufacture, we build it to specification — in S355 structural steel, through ISO 9001:2015 certified manufacturing partners.
What We Can Build
Fuel storage & dispensing — custom bunded bowsers, dispensing units, multi-product systems
Liquid management — dewatering, storage, transfer and containment for specific site conditions
Dust & particle suppression — custom cannon configurations, specific tank capacities, connectivity
Material handling frames — bespoke lifting accessories, specialised containers, handling systems
Site safety equipment — barrier systems, segregation structures, exclusion zone equipment
Bespoke fabrications — any S355 structural steel fabrication for a specific operational problem
If you can describe the problem, we can probably solve it. Start with a phone call — 01905 935679
MW Equipment's standard product range was itself born from a bespoke need — Jordan needed a fuel bowser that could be repositioned by his demolition excavator, and none existed. He brought the problem to George and John, and the FuelBag was the result. Every MWE product has the same origin: a real operational problem that the market hadn't solved.
Our bespoke service exists for the same reason. If you have an operational challenge that the standard MWE product range doesn't address — specific tank capacities, unusual site configurations, specialist regulatory requirements, integration with other equipment — we want to hear about it.
The best bespoke enquiries start with a description of the problem, not a proposed solution. Tell us what's costing you time and money on site, and we'll tell you how we'd solve it.
George — Design Lead
"Growing up in agriculture, then building my trade in welding, fabrication, heavy machinery and CAD design — my experience has shaped a practical, solutions-focused approach to every project. If you can describe the problem clearly, I can usually see a way to solve it."
Typical Bespoke Trigger Scenarios
Unique Site Configuration
Your site has specific access constraints, terrain conditions or infrastructure that standard products can't accommodate without modification.
Non-Standard Capacities
You need a specific tank volume, dispensing rate, storage capacity or handling quantity that differs from the standard product specification.
Regulatory or Certification Requirement
Your application has specific regulatory, certification or client-approval requirements that standard equipment can't satisfy without engineering evidence or modification.
New Application or Sector
You're working in an application or sector that the standard MWE range wasn't designed for, but where the core principles of the Easy-Lift System and UK manufacture are relevant.
Integration with Existing Equipment
You need new equipment to interface with machines, systems or infrastructure you already have — requiring bespoke dimensions, connection points or compatibility design.
Every bespoke project follows the same five-stage process. Nothing goes to manufacture without your sign-off on the design. The design and approval stages are the cheapest point to change direction — we encourage iteration at stage 2 and 3, so we get it right before any cutting or welding starts.
Discovery
Tell us the problem you're trying to solve — not the product you think you need. The best bespoke outcomes come from understanding the operational challenge: the site conditions, the machines you have, the regulatory environment, the performance requirements. This is usually a phone call or site visit. We're happy to start with an informal conversation before any commitment is made. Call us on 01905 935679 or email info@mwequipment.co.uk.
Design
George leads concept development using CAD. Initial concepts are shared with you before any manufacturing commitment — this is the stage for iteration and direction changes. The goal is to confirm the proposed solution genuinely addresses the brief before the design is finalised. We work through as many revisions as needed at this stage; it costs far less to change a drawing than to change a fabrication.
Approval
Before manufacture begins, the finalised design and specification are reviewed and signed off with you. This covers materials (steel grade and section sizes), dimensions, functional requirements, Easy-Lift System integration where applicable, surface finish, and any site-specific requirements. Nothing goes to manufacture without your sign-off. This stage also confirms the agreed price and lead time.
Manufacture
Bespoke products are manufactured by the same UK partners that produce the standard MWE range — to the same ISO 9001:2015 quality management system, using the same S355 structural steel specification. Inspection against the agreed design and specification takes place at the manufacturing facility before despatch. Material test certificates are available on request.
Delivery & Review
On delivery, we follow up to confirm the product is performing as required on site. Bespoke product feedback is actively sought — it drives refinements that often feed back into future standard product development. We welcome all customer feedback. This is how the MWE product range grew from one product to five, and how it will continue to grow.
This list is illustrative, not exhaustive. If your requirement doesn't fit neatly into a category below, call us anyway — the best new products start as conversations that don't fit neatly into categories.
Custom bunded bowsers in non-standard capacities, multi-product dispensing units, aviation fuel systems, AdBlue dispensing units, combined fuel and lubricant systems.
Custom dewatering units, liquid storage and transfer systems, contaminated water handling, leachate management equipment, washwater containment for specific industrial applications.
Custom cannon configurations, non-standard tank capacities, dual-connection systems, fixed-installation variants, bespoke oscillation patterns for specific material or terrain types.
Bespoke lifting frames, specialist material containers, fencing or barrier handling systems for non-standard panel types, aggregate and bulk material handling accessories.
Bespoke barrier and exclusion zone systems, specialist pedestrian segregation structures, modular site safety equipment designed around specific site geometry or regulatory requirements.
Any S355 structural steel fabrication for a specific operational problem. If you can describe the problem and the environment it operates in, we can evaluate whether MWE has the capability to solve it.
Bespoke products from MW Equipment use exactly the same materials, manufacturing partners and quality standards as our standard range. There is no distinction between "standard quality" and "bespoke quality" — every product, whether it's a catalogue FuelBag or a one-off custom fabrication, is made to the same specification.
S355 to BS EN 10025-2 throughout. 355 MPa minimum yield strength. RHS, CHS, plate and flat bar sections as required by design.
All bespoke products manufactured by our ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001 certified UK manufacturing partners — the same partners that make our standard range.
UK-led supply chain. UK steel fabrication & assembly. Consistent quality, known lead times, and the ability to discuss production directly with the manufacturing facility.
George designs to manufacturing-ready CAD specification. Designs are shared with you for approval before anything is cut. Material test certificates available on request.

Welding is to BS EN ISO 15614. Surface finish is blast clean and primer as standard, with further finishing to specification available. Material test certificates are available on request.
Yes. The patented MW Easy-Lift System (Patent Pending GB 2600815.1) can be incorporated into bespoke equipment where excavator, telehandler or forklift repositioning is required. This allows bespoke products to use the same chainless, single-operator lifting capability as the standard MWE range.
